Kawa of Care

Today we did one of the cybersmart challenges, We did Cybersmart Challenge #1. This cybersmart challenge is about taking care of your netbook, for example No food or drink allowed near your chrome book. I didn’t find this activity difficult because I have done it before. Check it out and you could also learn how to take care of your chrome book.

Have you done a cybersmart challenge before ?

Pepeha Art

Yesterday my group and I did self portraits, today we are colouring in our mountain, river/beach with pastels.

We have to chose two colours of the same shade and colour in the mountain, we chose another two colours of the same shade and colour in our beach/river.

We had to chose a mountain or river/beach have been to, I chose Maungarei (Mt Wellington) because that is the only mountain I have been to. For my river/beach I chose Kohimarama beach, I chose that beach because it is also a beach I have been to and because I had a good moment there.

I chose to colour in my mountain two shades of blue and fro my mountain I chose to colour it in with two shades of purple. Then I got Yellow, light shade of orange and a dark of shade and coloured the background of my picture. Then I smudged it so it could look like a sunset.

Once I finished colouring my picture in I glued to a black piece of paper. Check it out!

Art Day

On Fridays my class including Ms. Nees-Kairua’s class we have an art day!

Last week Friday was our second day of Art Day, last week Friday our art teacher was Lucy, Lucy helped us with practise lines and curved lines, we also drew a crosstich lines to help u shade our portraits.

We also tried to draw eyes, nose and lips, we had to get into partners and draw each other eyes. My partner and I Ofa only had two minutes to draw each others eyes. I found it hard because I couldn’t really get the shape of her eye.

Today our art was to draw a self portrait. We first drew our symmetry lines and then drew the shape of our face, we also drew lines to show where our eyes, nose and lips were gonna be. After drawing my eyes, nose and lips I started shading. I used a paper towel to shade my eyes nose and lips. Then I drew two braids on the outside and a shirt.

I found this drawing hard because I couldn’t get the right shape of my face, and shading my portrait was really easy!

The Feast Day of the Annunciation

Kia Ora, today’s topic is about the Feast of The Annunciation.

The Annunciation is when Angel Gabriel came upon Mary and told her she was going to give birth, Angel Gabriel told her that she must name her baby Jesus, The Son of the Most High. Mary said “YES” to giving birth to Jesus.

That is why many People are celebrating the Feast of the Annunciation, because Mary said “YES”. Pope Francis is also praying for the Peace of Ukraine and Russia!

To celebrate The Feast of the Annunciation my school and I went to the and said 10 Hail Mary’s, sang songs, and prayed for the Ukraine.

I challenge to make a drawing of Angel Gabriel and Mary!

Do you celebrate the Annunciation ?

Bling my Edublog

Hi everyone, Today’s blog is about a background I made for my brand new blog!

First I was given a template, with the template I was given, I customised it to my liking. I chose to use a Indian design and make a checker board with it. To make my checker board design I first screen shot the design, put it onto my template, then copied and paste it multiple times to make my design. After making my design I chose a colour to match with my design.

I found this activity quite hard because I couldn’t chose what pattern nor design to do.

St Patrick’s Day

Malo Lelei,

On the 17th of March we celebrate the Feast Day of St Patrick. He is a Patron Saint of Ireland.

We celebrate St Patricks to show respect and to remember St Patrick. Saint Patrick also ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.

We also remember him from his story.

St Patrick was born in Britain of a Roman family. Around the age of 16 and 17 he was kidnapped by Ireland raiders and became a slave, after six years of slavery he dreamt of escaping and finally ran away to his freedom. After reuniting with his family he decided to go to Ireland and turn thousand of Irish people into Catholics.

Now he is known as the patron saint of Ireland.

I challenge to make a drawing of St Patrick and include some information!
